By supporting Willow Angelica Foundation, you will be helping talented young women in Uganda to gain woodwork skills, earn sustainable income, and achieve financial independence. Working with local partners, we carefully select and support women who are most in need. Our administration costs are kept to a minimum, and we ensure that your support goes directly to empower women through skills-to-work pathways.

About Willow Angelica Foundation

Built from an operating furniture enterprise, using real production demand to create dignified, sustainable income pathways for women-led skills and livelihood empowerment.

Background

Many young women face barriers to decent work, leaving them economically dependent and vulnerable to exploitation. Some run away from home or marry early, then become trapped in harmful homes or relationships due to lack of income.

Mission

To uplift young women—especially single mothers—by providing practical skills, employment opportunities and financial literacy through woodwork and creative development, improving wellbeing and safety for women and their children.

Vision

A world where young women are economically independent, confident and able to provide safe, stable and dignified lives for themselves and their children through skilled and meaningful work.

The EmpowerHER Pathway

A structured skills-to-work pathway connecting training to earning opportunities and long-term independence through women-led skills and livelihood empowerment.

Who Can Apply?

  • Women aged 18–40 based in Kampala or surrounding areas
  • Single mothers are especially encouraged to apply
  • No prior woodwork experience required
  • Must be available for full-time training (8–12 weeks)
  • Committed to completing the full programme pathway
  • Willing to participate in financial literacy sessions
